I've upgraded the home digital recorder to a full HD Panasonic system (the DMR-BW880 to be exact) to be ready for the World Cup. The key new feature of the unit is that it includes a DLNA server to stream recorded content to other DLNA devices on the network.
I don't have any other DLNA 'certified' hardware but I do have a fast wireless network and a Mac.. SURELY there's a nice bit of software available to turn my mac into a DLNA client!?!
Googling turns up lots and lots of DLNA server solutions, mainly hinged around streaming from macs to PS3s and Xboxes but no clients.
Does anyone with more experience in this sort of area have any advice?
